About the Company
Have you ever felt restricted and unable to explore the world due to limited resources, time constraints, or simply afraid to travel? That was once my reality. I dreamed of immersing myself in diverse cultures, but the barriers seemed unconquerable. Yet, when the opportunity finally arose, it was transformative. As I embarked on my journey, meeting people from all walks of life, I realized the profound impact of cultural exchange. Inspired by this newfound understanding, I envisioned a platform to break down barriers and create an experience for those in the situation I was once in. And thus, DIEGO was born.
DIEGO isn’t just an app; it’s a gateway to global experiences, offering a virtual passport to explore diverse cultures, traditions, and perspectives. It’s a testament to the power of technology to cultivate empathy, understanding, and connection across borders. My journey may have started with limitations, but with DIEGO, the possibilities are endless.
Pitch Summary
DIEGO is an app that promotes civil discourse and empathy among diverse communities through interactive learning experiences and cultural simulations. DIEGO uses augmented reality (AR) technology and artificial intelligence (AI) to offer real-time insights into cultural events and global storytellers’ perspectives of the desired location, fostering inclusive dialogue spaces. Our team, with solid international and tech backgrounds, is committed to bridging cultural understanding gaps.
Society’s deficit in understanding diverse cultures may stem from individuals’ discomfort stepping beyond familiar social circles. Lack of funds (27%) and time constraints (26%) hinder travel opportunities. DIEGO addresses this by pioneering empathetic experiences through AR & AI, enabling virtual journeys from home. Its anonymous participation feature fosters secure, open dialogue between users and storytellers, efficiently breaking down barriers to cultural understanding by allowing users to experience an interactive way of learning that is better than watching a movie or searching for information online.
